This set refers to ASTM D2573 for determining soil characteristics using a scissometer. Used to determine the shear strength of cohesive soils in the absence of drainage (CU) in situ, it is particularly suitable for testing very soft soils. Consisting of a reinforced penetrometer with tips: 4.5 mm for very hard soils, 6.35 mm for medium and soft soils, 8.98 mm for soft soils - Measurement range: 0 to 1000 kPa and a scissometer for in situ testing with a measurement range of 0–240 kPa with 3 cruciform blades measuring 16x32, 20x40, 25.4x50.8 mm (diameter x height), extension rod to reach 500 mm, various accessories, carrying case.
