"The accuracy of shrinkage tests depends directly on the surface condition of your steel mold.Technical tip: Before each pour, be sure to apply a very thin film of mineral release oil using a soft cloth to all interior surfaces. Excess oil creates surface bubbles that skew metrological measurements. Required maintenance: After demolding your 70-mm prisms, immediately clean off any cement residue using a soft brass brush (avoid steel scrapers, which scratch the cells) and store the mold lightly oiled to prevent any risk of oxidation."
